By the end of this topic, you should be able to:
1. Discuss areas for parents and staff in an early childhood facility; and
2. Elaborate the importance of space for parents and staff.
 INTRODUCTION
In the previous topics, we discussed the importance of early childhood environment and how quality environment has a strong impact on childrenÊs learning and development. However, early childhood programmes are not only meant to ease the performing of tasks such as planning and implementing a programme for young children, they also have to ensure that equipment and facilities meet the needs of both parents and staff. A quality early childhood programme would cater for adults by providing a meeting space for confidential dialogue and communication between staff and parents. Parents and staff value an early childhood setting that gives them a sense of being home and being able to provide excellent care and service. Thus, this topic discusses the importance of convenient environment for parents and staff in early childhood setting. The issues that will be discussed include provisions for adults in early childhood setting, areas of convenience for parents and staff, and the importance of physical space for parents and staff.
