(e) Helps to spark childrenÊs interest – Quality environment encourages young children to learn and satisfy their curiosity. Children learn how to solve problems through experimenting and exploring the world around them. They seek to satisfy their curiosity with others and spend more time to fulfil their interests. Children pursue their own interests and motivations through a positive healthy environment.
(f) Develops childrenÊs mood – Young children are curious to explore the world around them and discover amazing experiences with others. Through a positive environment, children learn how to manage their mood in a healthy way. Quality environment allows young children to follow their own ideas and interests without much pressure and they feel better emotionally .
(g) Provides children opportunities to practise their skills – Quality environment allows young children to practise their function skills, such as large motor skills, as well as try new things independently. These skills are important not only in young childrenÊs current situation, but also later in their life.
(h) Improves communication – Quality environment provides good opportunity for children to develop their communication and language skills. Environment with visual support such as symbols, pictures, labels and posters can be very effective in aiding the development of childrenÊs language and communication skills. . This kind of environment also fosters communication among children and adults, and enables them to develop ideas while interacting with others.
(i) Supports childrenÊs exploration of their ideas – Quality environment provides a place for young children to think, which in turn provides intellectual stimulation to them. This place helps children construct knowledge from prior experiences, provokes divergent thinking and leads them through the steps of critical thinking. It encourages children to
positive relationships among children and adults. The environment is important for providing positive peer interaction. Children learn how to use space and collaborate through social skills. Healthy relationships with adults build trust and honesty among children. Characteristics of early childhood centre such as warmth, comfort and mentally stimulating can promote strong relationship between children and adults. Children will be
