70  TOPIC 4 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT FOR PRESCHOOLERS
A good floor plan must take into account areas for routines like having meals or snacks, taking naps or rest. The other important consideration is the different corners for interest centres; blocks, sensory, art, fine motor, dramatic play, science, math, computers, literacy, manipulatives/fine motor, writing/listening. This can enhance the studentsÊ learning experience and play opportunities.
Figures 4.4 through 4.6 present examples of how centres for preschoolers can be developed from floor plans.
