There is a special space in Japanese houses called “genkan” or an entrance hall.
This area is just inside the front door that serves as a welcome space and
storage of outdoor shoes. When you enter a Japanese house, you leave your
shoes in the genkan or inside a getabako -- a shoe rack and proceed into the
rest of the house. The Japanese have developed the custom of taking off their
shoes for sanitation and to secure tatami mats from dirt.
At The Seasons Residences, each unit offers functional storage spaces such as a
shoe cabinet to store and organize shoes and other items like umbrellas and
cleaning supplies, contributing to a clean and organized home.
