From Fishing To Hobbyists
The mix of wooded, agricultural, and wetland habitats provide homes for an array of avian wildlife, making it a great place for bird watching, photographing, and filming. Some sites worth naming include Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area, Tuckahoe State Park, the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, and Terrapin Nature Park. Embraced by miles of scenic Chesapeake Bay waterways, Queen Anne’s offers a great variety of saltwater and freshwater fishing experiences. Considering our prime location in Maryland, we would regret if we didn’t suggest that you take a trip out on the bay to catch some fresh Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab. The county has eighteen public landings and ramps for you to cast out with tackle box and bait in hand.
If horse back riding is more your speed, look no further. Price Creek Environmental Area/Nemo Equestrian Trail is a 300-acre park with a horse riding path that skirts an environmentally protected area adjacent to Price Creek. The county’s second equestrian trail, at Conquest Preserve, is a 1.5-mile equestrian riding path that will eventually be expanded to more than 10 miles.

Talisman Therapeutic Riding (TTR) provides a unique form of healing through the use of horses and nature. The farm encompasses 1,000 acres of pastures, waterfront, tidal wetlands, and woods. TTR is the first therapeutic riding center on Delmarva to be open year round and the first professionally operated TR center in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.
