Big Data

There are many sources of big data, social media for example, or
RFID data, or machine data or call centre records. These datasets

can be huge but the data when extracted can be very manageable.

Let us consider the concept of RFID data for a national retail chain.

The RFID tag is used for security and stock management. The stock

management is a structured data project but just by coincidence,
RFID data is collected by our security systems. The problem is, it is

not collected in a structured manner. For every security scanner in

every store we have a file listing every RFID tag that passed
through the scanner that day. With over 1000 stores and up to 30

scanners each store we have a mass of data. So now we need to

build an Identification/Extraction project to do some data

discovery, add some location intelligence and give us some
enrichment.
