The Acid Mantle.

Basically the acid mantle is like the skins

force-field. For it to work properly, it needs to

maintain a pH of (4.6-5.5).

If it get's too alkaline, like up to a pH of 7 or 8

(baking soda territory) then it is no longer very

effective at destroying acne causing bacteria

among many other reasons.

A common way people damage their acid

mantle is through using high alkaline skin care

products.

So the lesson here is to choose a cleanser and

moisturizer that are what is called pH

balanced. Get some of these and test your

products.
