The BAYADA Way
From the beginning, BAYADA had the processes and systems to provide care with compassion, excellence, and reliability, but needed a way to define our culture. At
its heart is our shared purpose, inspiring our deep passion to help others, which comes
from within.
In 2002, Mark Baiada reached out to advisors for guidance. Mark bonded with the father of a client and boldly shared, "I want to make sure that in 100 years, someone
like you, with a child like yours, can get the same kind of help you're getting
now. I need to write down who we are, what we stand for, and what we believe at BAYADA, so people will know what to do when I’m gone.”
Extensive research was done throughout the company to define:
• What BAYADA stands for
• What we believe
• What our values are
• What makes BAYADA unique
Wanting BAYADA’s guiding principles to be defined by those at the front lines of our work, Mark gathered participants from various BAYADA offices for focus groups and all-day retreats.
Exercises and surveys were conducted to distill 40 values into eight, and then three. With the philosophy well refined, the next step was to write it.
