CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Founded in 1956, the Clark County School District is one of the largest school districts in the United States
and serves the majority of Nevada’s K through 12 students. Current enrollment is about 300,000 students
across more than 360 schools spread over roughly 8,000 square miles in Southern Nevada. The district is
also one of the state’s largest employers, with over 40,000 staff members.

The district is overseen by a seven-member Board of Trustees representing geographic areas throughout
the county. Its focus is on student achievement, graduation readiness, and preparation for success in a
diverse, global society. CCSD offers magnet schools, Career and Technical Academies, International
Baccalaureate programs, and a fully online secondary school option through Nevada Learning Academy.

District services include school police, adult education programs, special education support,
and partnerships with higher education institutions and community organizations such as Vegas PBS
and the Public Education Foundation. As Nevada’s primary public school system, CCSD remains central
to the region’s long term workforce and community development.
