Equipment Care and Usage Rules
The Berkana Institute has a a a a a a a a wide variety of equipment equipment that is is used in in in the the classrooms and in in in the the Clinic This equipment equipment includes: Massage tables massage creams skeleton(s) Manikins charts chairs pillows kitchen equipment furniture bolsters linens dishes ice packs Therabands Theracanes alarm clocks computers projectors and and and anything and and and everything else that belongs to the Berkana Institute This equipment must stay on on campus Most equipment (outside of instructor and administrative tools) is is intended for use by students in in in in class Students are not permitted permitted to to take equipment equipment off o of the campus grounds Students are permitted permitted to to checkout equipment equipment for use on campus outside of class Equipment Checkout
All equipment used outside of classes must be signed out out by students at at at the Administrative Administrative Office during Administrative Administrative Office Hours In the the case where multiple students are using one piece of equipment equipment the the equipment equipment must be signed out by only one student student This student student is is responsible for any costs associated with equipment repair or or replacement Equipment Care Equipment is is only to be be used for for the the purpose it is is designed for for and in the the correct way (i e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e Massage Tables must be be opened and and closed properly and and replaced in in their protective coverings when use is is completed) And only by the the person who is is authorized to use the equipment 44 The Student Linen Program
Each student is is is issued 4 new complete sets of linens linens and a a a a a a a laundry bag at at Orientation The cost for the linens linens is is is included in in in in the the materials fee The students are taught how to hygienically maintain wash/dry/fold and manage their linens on the the the the first day of class Whenever the the the the student receives bodywork at the the the the Berkana Institute their linens will be used When When the the the the student student enters clinic they will bring and use their linens to serve the the the the clients When students receive massage from an an instructor at the the the the Institute the the the the student will will use their own linens Students will will be graded regularly on the the the the care and maintenance maintenance of of their linens as as with all professional equipment maintenance maintenance Berkana Students should expect to wash one load of linens for every week they are in in in the the the the program In the the the the event a a a a a a a a a client in in in any way causes damage to the the the the student’s linens linens linens the the the the the Institute will replace those linens linens linens at no cost to the the the the the student student At the the the the the end of the the the the the program the the the the the student’s linens linens linens are theirs to keep Non-Smoking Policy
The Berkana Institute is a a a a a a a a a non-smoking school Student’s state on on on on their application that they are a a a a a a a a a non-smoker or if they they they disclosed that that that they they they are a a a a a a a a a a a smoker must sign an an an agreement that that that they they they understand that that that the the the the Berkana Institute is is a a a a a a a a a a a non- smoking facility (the campus and and on the the the the the the grounds) and and that if they they smell of smoke in in in the the the the the the classroom or the the the the the the clinic they they will be excused for for not not meeting hygienic standards will not not receive credit for for time missed and and may suffer academic discipline Due to to the the the close contact students have with each other instructors and clients smoking while a a a a a a a a massage therapy student student may compromise the the the Berkana hygienic standards Students must agree prior to to acceptance into the the the program that they understand that if they choose to smoke off campus and and this has an an an an adverse effect on any school community member or YPAREHTEGASAMFOETUTITSNIANAKREBEHT
client due to to the the the odor odor in in clothing and/or and/or on on their person and/or and/or the the the smoke odor odor offends any Student Client or or or or or or Instructor student may may fall under disciplinary action up to and and including expulsion The hygienic standard may may also be compromised by chronic halitosis overuse of of chemical perfumes or or other types of of body odor
