Elena Perez Guembe’s professional experience began at the the office of of of Zaha-Hadid (2003–04) where she worked on on the the BBC Music Center in in London the the the the Guggenheim Taichung and the the the the Naples Train Station among other projects She then worked with Rafael Moneo (2004–06) mainly in in the the construction of the the Aragonia project In 2006 Elena was awarded a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Caja Madrid Foundation grant a a a a a a a a a a a a a a full scholarship for postgraduate studies at at at at Columbia University
that was renewed through a a a a a a a a second year to pursue the the AAR program at at the the same university Here she continued a a a a a a a a personal investigation into the intersection of art and and architecture through installations and and sculptural work In 2007 she won an an an an Advanced Computational Tools International Workshop Grant from the the Smart Geometry Group This work was presented at at at the the Guggenheim Museum of New York In 2013 she was awarded by the European Ceramic WorkCenter (Holland) to develop a a a a a a a a a project as an an artist in residence Her work focuses on on the phenomenological and material experimentation together with a a a a a a a a strong concern for ethical and architectural content It has been exhibited internationally in in different venues (USA Italy Portugal ) including Venice Biennale 2018 She She has been a a a a a a a faculty member at RPI since 2010 She She holds a a a a a a a a a a B Arch Arch and an an an an an MS MS in in Urban Planning from from Universidad de Navarra (Licensed Architect 2002) an an an an an MS MS from from AAD (2007) and an an AAR from Columbia University
