Student Assistance Coordinators are charged with
addressing a complex array of student issues related to
mental health, substance abuse and addiction. This series,
offered in partnership with the NJ Association of Student
Assistance Professionals (ASAP NJ), will provide SACs with
essential knowledge and skills, including the latest trends
in drug use, best practices related to identifying and
supporting students in need, and key legal requirements related to student safety, confidentiality,
the duty to report and the duty of care owed to all students.

Litigation Certificate Program
Litigation is a constant threat in the area of special
education. In New Jersey, the challenge is even
greater because the burden of proof is always
on the school district, unlike any other area of
the law. This series will empower participants to
understand how to reduce the need for litigation,
prepare for mediation and due process, and be in
the best possible position to prevail when litigation
occurs, under IDEA or Section 504.
