Generic Name: Salbutamol
Brand names: Aromir, Apo-Salbutamol, Asmol, Ventolin
Side effects/precautions:
Nausea, Sweating, Restlessness, Headache and dizziness
Interactions:
Metformin, furosemide
Reasons for interactions:
Furosemide = Together with Albuterol may increase the risk of developing hypokalemia, or low blood
potassium.
Metformin = Albuterol may interfere with blood glucose control and reduce the effectiveness of
Metformin and other diabetic medications.
Metroprolol = Together with Albuterol may reduce the benefits of both medications, since they have
opposing effects in the body.
Tramadol = Together with Tramadol can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be
serious and potentially life-threatening, although it is a rare side effect.
