                                                                                            1948. The home owner decided not
                                                                                            to cut the intruding root, but instead
                                                                                            they let it grow and freely encroach
                                                                                            into the house. This situation
                                                                                            demonstrates not only this eternal
                                                                                            con„ict of natural versus built
                                                                                            environments, but also how it can
                                                                                            sometimes be okay to allow these to                                                               *ODVV
                                                                                            co-exist and even compete without
                                                                                            external (human) interference.
