If you're anything like us you've been patiently awaiting that splendid weekend at the end of March that marks "Maple In The County."
Many of us emerge from hibernation to visit sugar shacks around the County that have been working tirelessly to produce some of Canada's finest caramel coloured liquid gold. Bulbs are beginning to peek through the snow, the days are longer, the birds have returned and the signs of new life are everywhere.
With 13 sugar shack locations and more than 20 additional venues offering craft beer, wine, food and family events it's no wonder this weekend is fondly anticipated. Butsadlythisyear'seventhadtobe cancelled due to COVID-19.
We are in FULL agreement with this decision for everyone's safety and well being BUT...

How about we get out of the house. We're all going a little stir crazy anyway. Get the family or whomever you are "social distancing with" and hop in the car.
Drive by as many syrup shacks as possible and take some crazy selfies along the way. Tag the sugar shacks that you find and together we can build awareness of these great businesses. When life returns to normal and tourism picks up once again this will help get these venues on the radar for people visiting the County. Oh ya, AND eat more pancakes!
