WHAT IS DESIGN PRINCIPLES
Design Principles are a tool for creating a better, more consistent experience for
our spaces. They are high level principles that guide the when we arranging in a
design process. Design principles are aimed at helping students find ways to
enhance usability, influence perception, increase appeal, teach users, and make
sound design decisions during projects . The principles of design are the rules a
student must follow to create an effective and attractive composition. The
fundamental principles of design that are going to be covered in this chapter are
Axis, Hierarchy, Datum and Rhythm. The principles are the recipe for a good
work of space arrangement. How the principles of design are applied determines
how successful one is in creating a practical space arrangement
