PREFACE





          In order to understand what is the process of space planning in architecture student must learn the

          true understanding of what is space in architecture. Students must understand how strategic space
          planning can help them to produce a good architectural space layout. Students must develop both a
          foundation of space and an understanding of the key elements critical to achieve good space planning.

          I wrote this book to provide a framework for students to understand what is space, what space
          relationship, what is space organization, what is principle in architecture and what is architecture

          style. All the information's for this book being gathered from the notes the author collected for the
          pass thirty years when the author taught design class in Politeknik Port Dickson. I had three main goals
          in writing this book: • Accuracy. This book is the result of many years of facilitating, researching, and

          teaching design. It is important to teach our students skills that are based on true understanding to
          the strategy of space planning in architecture. This book places a clear emphasis on teaching skills in

          developing good space layout. • Simulation. To describe and give true experience to the students
          what is space planning, this book uses realistic examples to help students get inside what space
          planning is really like. In addition to examples, I have provided video clips what is space planning, how

          to develop good space layout and case studies prominent building with good layout. • A structured
          approach. I have defined important elements that can be used by the students to communicate

          effectively. Hope this book can be the guide for the students in learning space planning to produce
          good space layout.
