Randomize for realism
Randomness is very important for realistic results. One of the
things students need to explores is to add randomness to their
scenes. Randomize will help the scene to be more real. As an
example shown in the figure after this page we can see that
some wooden planks are thicker than others while some have
been rotated by a few millimeters to create variation in the joint
sizes. These simple tricks will help us to create a more natural
result. In addition, the material also has randomness as it has
been created with many images of different wooden planks. In
the sample shown we can see variations have been added in
the glossiness and dirt for each one.
