Brecon Castle retains all the warmth and character of a coaching inn mixed with the formality of a late Georgian Hotel
Formerly an 11th Century Norman Castle, then an early coaching inn and later the residence of the Morgans of Tredegar Park, in 1809 part of the castle ruins and outbuildings were renovated by Sir Charles Morgan to become one of the first ‘modern’ hotel in Wales.
Brecon Castle retains all the warmth and character of a coaching inn mixed with the formality of a late Georgian hotel. The Regency Ballroom, with the medieval remains of the Great Hall of Brecon Castle attached, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive and historic venues in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The mountains dominate the town of Brecon and provide a picturesque backdrop to ballroom, gardens, restaurant and bar. There are four private dining venues. With 40 bedrooms and an excellent bar and restaurant, this is a fine base for enjoying the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Our four function rooms are ideal for intimate dinners, meetings, banquets, weddings, exhibitions and conferences. Our Head Chef produces a menu which represents the best of seasonal International cooking. Modern and traditional dishes sit comfortably alongside each other, all freshly prepared, using the best of locally sourced meat, fish and Welsh cheeses. We also have a Sunday carvery.
Come and visit us, look around our inn, bedrooms, castle, riverside and mountain-view gardens and our facilities and discuss your requirements with the events team.
