9 National Park Visitor Centre
Open every day except Christmas Day, 9.30am-4.30pm summer, 10am-4pm winter.
The Visitor Centre is an ideal place to stop and find out more about the Bannau
Brycheiniog National Park, places to visit and to enjoy the scenery. The Centre
overlooks the mountains, including Pen y Fan and Corn Du. A gently sloping path
leads up to the main entrance, information centre, craft and gift shop and toilets.
A sensory garden incorporates a colourful display of ceramics and tiles, created by
the South Wales Potters and local school children.
The cafe is on the lower level, providing meals and refreshments, accessed from the
car park by the curved, gently sloping path down to the seating area and the entrance.
Just outside the grounds of the Centre is Mynydd Illtyd Common with plenty of easy
walks with fantastic views.
How to get there: The centre is signposted from the A470, close to the village of
Libanus, 5.5 miles/9km south of Brecon.

Public Transport: The T4/T14 stops at Libanus village.(TC) To get to the Visitor Centre
walk 1.5 miles/2.5 km uphill along a B road with no pavement (signposted from main
road). There is an alternative road, then a rough footpath from the village.
Parking: There is a large car park with a compacted stone surface and disabled car
parking spaces (tarmac surface) next to the Visitor Centre entrance. This is a pay and
display car park with free parking for disabled parking badge holders only.

Facilities: An information centre, gift shop and tea room are on site.
An all-terrain mobility scooter is available to hire free of charge (book in advance).
Toilets: The toilets and baby changing room are on the upper level, just inside the main
entrance corridor. There is a Changing Places pod by the main entrance
