Recycling and rubbish
We aim to recycle as much as possible to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
As a business we have a commercial contract with a local waste management company (Thomas Waste) who sort all the waste from the cottages.
Please put everything in the red Thomas dumpster bin by the entrance to the top drive.
Red recycling box
You can use this for all paper / cardboard, rinsed glass bottles, jars, hard plastics and tins. We have an arrangement with the waste collector to sort all recycling. When the box is full or before you leave please empty it in the red Thomas dumpster bin by the entrance to the top drive.
Food Bin
There is a small food bin in the kitchen. Please use this for all food waste including cooked and uncooked food. The bags then need tying tightly and can be popped into the larger food bin in the hallway.
At the end of your stay, these bags also need to be placed in the red Thomas dumpster bin by the top entrance.
Leftover food
Please take all food home with you or dispose of it in the recycling and food bins. Please don’t leave anything in the fridge.
Non–recyclable rubbish
Please put all other waste (in either white or black bags) securely in the red Thomas dumpster.
We would also appreciate it if you can empty your bathroom and bedroom bins before you leave.
All the recycling and waste in the dumpster is sorted when it is collected.
