Fishmonger Apprenticeships
Since our announcement in the last NFF News that Blackpool & the Fylde College was supporting apprenticeships for independent fishmongers we can now report that two other Colleges in England are also supporting the Level 2 Fishmonger Apprenticeship.
Duchy College, part of the Cornwall College Group are a long standing Seafish recognised apprenticeship provider for South West England. Plumpton College is new to fishmonger apprenticeships and they are working with Billingsgate Seafood Training School and Seafish to support their first cohort of fishmonger apprenticeships.

A Boost to the Seafood Training Networks
Scotland
The Scottish network has benefited from the appointment of a part time training co-ordinator.
Michael Sim, featured in the January Seafood Training Newsletter, is supporting the Network and other trainers in Scotland. The Network has also expanded its Partnership to include Skills Development Scotland and Aberdeen based College NESCOL.
 Wales
The Network for Wales has announced funded training programmes for February and March covering shellfish preparation, knife skills and bivalve depuration.
Thanks to funding secured by Menter a Busnes for the Welsh Seafood Cluster, six one-day training courses are available at substantially reduced costs to trainees based in Wales. Menter a Busnes are one of the Partners in the Network for Wales. Menter a Busnes can be contacted on 01970 636565.

Yorkshire and Lincolnshire
The Partners in this Network have invited Nicola Ritchie of Seachill & The Saucy Fish Co. to take on the role of Network Chair.
Nicola will be the first Chair for this Network and she joins Helen Muir (Scotland Chair) and James Wilson (Wales Chair) in helping to guide their respective Seafood Training Networks in responding to the training needs of fish and shellfish businesses. Andrew Kenny represents the fishmongering sector for this Network.
