Originally the village butchers shop and mill, the black and white timbered frame of the The Butchers Arms has stood in the village of Woolhope for hundreds of years.
It’s a charming pub of low beams, wooden settles, cosy corners and a roaring open fire on winter nights. In summer, there is plenty of outside seating from which to enjoy a drink or a meal surrounded by the glorious Herefordshire
countryside.
With a long standing reputation throughout the area as a great place to eat, Phil Vincent and his team are continuing that tradition. Cooking with the finest fresh ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible, they offer an imaginative menu of traditional favourites plus a few surprises.
Enjoy seasonal game and themed menus on event nights, plus an excellent choice of accompanying wines and a bar that is in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The pub hosts everything from a party for that special occasion to a wedding celebration.
A number of circular walks can be enjoyed from the pub, either sticking to the quiet country lanes or heading out across un-spoilt open countryside, culminating at the Butcher's bar of course. Informal, well established and dog friendly... just like your hosts.
