Herefordshire food literally does ‘gate to plate’ by the tractor load. The real home of world renowned Hereford Beef, acres of strawberries, our incredible Wye Valley Asparagus, giants like Tyrrells crisps and fields packed with pick-your- own farms, Herefordshire grows practically everything in its nutrient rich soil.
So it stands to reason that we’re also blessed with a smorgasbord of eateries using local producers and the freshest ingredients.
FOOD
The indie food scene is rife in Hereford City, with The Beefy Boys’ award-winning burger joint and The Shack Revolution’s freshly ovened pizzas and their unique blend of cocktails – a cool combo. The casual dining of The Den and Firefly offer a great alternative to more formal Castle House and there are several other venues in between.
In the sticks you’re spoilt for choice and tucked away in the villages and hamlets are some excellent destinations.
The Nest, on the Hereford/Ledbury road, is a wonderful deli-destination and delicious café, while also being the home to The Handmade Scotch Egg Company’s mouthwatering culinary combinations on an old picnic classic.
