Fishmongers’ Hall, London
Monday 17th February 2020
The 87th Federation AGM saw Council members formally consider and approved the Federation unaudited accounts and annual report for the year ending September 2019.
Following on from last June’s EGM, which saw the amendments to Articles 56,57 & 58 in the Articles of Association approved, new versions are now available to members.
Any member wishing to receive either an e copy or hard copy, please contact Caroline who will arrange this.
Any member who would like to receive copies of both the unaudited accounts and annual report, again please contact, where they are available on request.
The AGM saw current President Giles Shaw, unanimously voted to serve a second term. Also continuing in their roles for the forthcoming year are Vice President, Rex Goldsmith and Company Secretary and Honorary Treasurer, Andrew Kenny. Other Past Presidents, Honorary and Council members continue to serve on your behalf for 2020 and were all reelected.
The Resignation of Past President Jonathan Adams was received. The Federation would like to take this opportunity to thank Jonathan for all his support and dedication over the past 30 years and wish him well for the future. Last year, also saw another Past President, Gordon Sage, resign from the Council, again we thank him for all his hard work and commitment as he continues to enjoy his retirement.
The following Council meeting saw the Executive & Finance Committee election take place. Your Committee for 2020 is Giles Shaw, Rex Goldsmith, Andrew Kenny, Gary Hooper, Helen Leftwich, Tim Silverthorne Ken Watmough and John Kenny.
At the November 2019 meeting, in recognition of all his support and dedication to the British Fish Craft Championships, Mr Alun Tandy was invited to join us on the Council as an Honorary member. I can confirm, Alun was delighted to accept and we look forward to welcoming him to our Federation.
Federation members will receive copies of the AGM minutes in this newsletter.

The National Living Wage (for over 25-year olds) will increase 6.2% from £8.21 to £8.72. The National Minimum Wage will rise across all age groups, including:
• A 6.5% increase from £7.70 to £8.20 for 21-24-year olds

• A 4.6% increase from £4.35 to £4.55 for Under 18s
• A 6.4% increase from £3.90 to £4.15 for Apprentices
The £930 increase in annual earnings compares the gross annual earnings of a person working 35 hours per week on the new NLW rate from April (£8.72) versus the 2018/19 NLW rate (£8.21). The £3,680 increase in annual earnings compares the gross annual earnings of a person working 35 hours per week on the new NLW rate from April (£8.72) versus the 2015/16 minimum wage rate (£6.70).
