Nestled in the heart of the Black & White villages of north Herefordshire lies Leominster, an historic 7thC market town steeped in folklore and tradition, popular for its fairs, festivals, street shows and regular markets. A haven for antique collectors, it has featured regularly on the BBC’s Flog It series. A wonderful base from which to explore The Marches, take in the sights, go walking or visit the many nearby attractions.
Myths & Legends
Imbued with folklore, myths and legends Leominster has an enchanting heritage. With its museum mapping the history of the town since Roman times, the spectacular Leominster Priory featuring the last surviving ducking stool and the newly renovated Grange Court, displaying the King’s carpenter John Abel’s finest work, all within walking distance of the town.
Recognised as the historical home of the Ryeland Sheep and its top quality wool the ‘Lemner Ore’, explore its textile heritage during the middle ages.
