CABIN INSPECTION
Cabin inspections will take place every Monday. Please ensure you clean your cabin at least once a week. Should you have any defects, which need to be looked at, please call the engineer or officer and record it on the defect list in the crew folder in the crew mess. It is your responsibility to keep your room in a respectable manner.
The below is a checklist for your reference, please complete this once a week. There is also a laminated check list in the crew mess on the wall for crew:
• Pleaseuseabucketofhotwaterandsoaptowipeallwallsanddeck-heads
• Portholeareatobecleanandclearofclutter
• TV’sandothersmalleritemstobewipedanddusted
• Allmirrorsandstainlesstobewipedwithwaterandvinegar
• Openshelvestobetidy,pleaseremoveitemsandwipeshelves
• Electricalitemsshouldbepluggedincorrectlyandplugssocketsnottobeabused
with too many attachments
• Carpetstobevacuumedregularly
• Safetygearshouldbeaccessibleandeasilyreached.
• Radios,chargerandsparebatterytobeaccessibleandworkingatalltimes
• Bathroomwallstobewipedwithdisinfectantandbathroomdeckheadstobewiped
regularly
• Allbathroomsstainlesstobecleanedwithvinegar(taps,toiletrollholder,lightfittings,
shower taps etc.)
• Ifthereiscalcificationonanyofyourstainless–pleaseusethedecalcarefully.
It is your responsibility to ensure there isn’t a build up of this! Please do not use
an abrasive sponge.
• Allsurfacestobewiped
• Floorsandskirtingtobecleanedthoroughlywithdisinfectant
• Showers to be wiped everyday to avoid water build up and mould - your shower
should be detailed at least once a week. Please use CIF spray if needed and white magic sponges; bleach or mould remover to be used only in extreme cases and cautiously!
• Toiletstobedisinfectedregularly–pleaseusetoiletcleaneronceaweekormore.
