LAUNDRY INSTRUCTIONS
General instruction:
• Separatelaundryintocolours,lights,darksanddelicates.
• Separategalley,crewmess/glasspolishingandcleaningrags.
They are washed on their own – Cottons hygiene programme (95 Degrees).
• Checkclothinglabelsbeforeselectingthetemperature&programmeifunsure.
• Checkeverypocket&sleeves.
• Donotoverloadthemachines(traditionallyit’sahandspanfromthetopofthe
drum to the load of washing)
• Ifindoubtaboutcolourfastness,washseparately,orpopinacolourcatcher.
• Pre-treatallstainsbeforewashingandcheckbeforedrying.
• NOBLEACHtobeusedinthelaundryunlessunderthedirectionoftheChiefStew.
• Attheendofeachday,makesurethatallwashinghasbeenreturnedandsurfaces
are left clear.
• Makesurethatthereisnowashingleftinthemachinesorthedryerotherthanrags.
• Ifindoubtabouttheownershipofanycrewclothingitems,leavetheminthecrew
mess & check with all crew members – Do not return if unsure.
• GuestclothesALWAYSgetpreference.
• Washtablelineninmeshbags.
• ThelaundryMUSTbewasheddownattheendofeachday.
• Ironsturnedoff(neverleaveanironorthesheetrolleronifyouarenotinthelaundry).
• Machineswipeddown&dryerfilters&ductingfiltersinceilingvacuumed.
• Cleanstarchoffironifnecessarywhileitishot.
• Hooverfloorinc.aroundbackofroller&inandaroundtheiron.
• Wipedowncountertopwithmulti-purposespray.
• Dustvacwindowalcove,vinegarwindow&polishcupboardpoppers.
• Emptybin.
• Ensurethesinkisclean.
• Soaknapkinsfromdinnerbutdonotleavecolourednapkinssoakingin
Vanish overnight.
• Putgalleyragson.
• Putcleaningragson.
• Spaceoutallitemsontherailsotheyhaveoptimumdryingduringthenight.
• Shutdoorandturnofflightsbeforeclosingdown.
