Up on the Downs
Rising to over 700 feet, the Bromyard Downs dominate the local area and form an impressive backdrop to the market town of Bromyard. Both are areas of outstanding natural beauty covering 500 acres and are perfect for walking and horse-riding.

The Bromyard area has a heritage of growing hops, apples, pears and even grapes, and traditional artisan producers are still active in the area.
Wine enthusiasts will love the tours and tastings with Frome Valley Vineyard, an award winning producer of sparkling and still wines. The vines, which bedeck the hillsides of the River Frome, are truly impressive and may tempt you into starting your very own vintage. A trip to the internationally acclaimed and awarding winning Oliver’s Cider and Perry in Ocle Pychard will offer you an insight into traditional Herefordshire cider making at its best. The Hop Pocket Shopping Village is a popular venue for family day trips, housing over 15 independent retailers. With a pretty garden centre, good-sized childrens’ play area, gift and craft emporium plus welcoming café and restaurant, it even has an amazing Hop Museum telling the story of the site’s origins.
And if it’s man-sized meat platters, delicious deli wraps and rolls, and all things local and tasty, head to Legges of Bromyard, traditionally a local butchers and now a real destination.
