out of the house and into a job with a title: Field
Information Officer. We analyze soil samples to
optimize plant growth.”
“My Purpose Statement pointed me in the right
direction and from that moment on I just needed to ask
myself, ‘am doing it now or not?’ If I was doing it,
there was joy and opportunities appeared and doors
opened and I acted on them. It was almost scary at
first. If I wasn't doing it I’d drift off track.
Susan’s Purpose Statement? “I challenge people to
imagine wild, new ideas.”
Purpose Statements seem trite and puny to other
people, but they are totally inspirational to the person
who’s statement it is. It’s as if suddenly there’s a point
to their life, a direction to their reason for being and
unity to their enthusiasm. But, to anyone else they
don't mean much.
Here are a few examples.
“I challenge people to imagine wild, new ideas”
“I make people away from home feel like friends”
“I search out and bring art to the world”
