Write Your Book
Over the next ten days you’re going to write a
complete first draft, starting with your emotional
opening chapter, followed by eight more chapters
containing a series of rational steps and rounding
out with an emotional closing chapter that looks at
where you’ve come from and where you’re going
from here. That means you have to write a total of
nine Key Chapters to complete your first draft.
Remember the three-part letter to a friend of a
friend? That letter has all the elements you need to
kick your book off to a flying start. Of course it must
be re-written and polished to fully connect, get
leverage and buy-in, but that will come later.
Right now, you are about to guide your reader on
to the first of the eight stepping stones. This is
where your expertise takes over. Only you know
what comes first. If you’re writing a book about
stepping out of your comfort zone to find new op-
