portunities, it might mean looking at how you got
where you are. If it’s a book about becoming an in-
ternet millionaire you might look at the history of
millionaires.
Whatever your topic, this is where your expertise
takes over. You are the expert now and you have to
come up with eight steps to take your reader from
an amateur to an authority. When you feel the urge
to combine or add more chapters, save it for your
second draft.
Each daily exercise will take about sixty minutes,
including the writing. If you have trouble coming
up with the hook and the point don’t worry: these
elements will become clear in the revision process.
Take TEN MINUTES Writing Madly about each sec-
tion: i.e. A heading and it’s three subheadings, paus-
ing for 5 minutes maximum between each heading
(some people get on such a role they don't want to
pause and that's ok. Many people want to keep on
writing but that's not ok. You can take care of that
urge in your rewrite. Remember the Writing Madly
mantra is First Just Finish It—Then Make it Great.
You already wrote your chapter 1 outline as your
letter to a friend of a friend, so let's step out into the
stream.
