His voice cracked, like a fault line splitting open.
"I've seen it happen, Andy. The brightest stars burning
out in a blaze of glory, leaving behind only ashes and
what-ifs.” Liam's eyes refocused; his gaze was piercing.
"Brilliance is a double-edged sword. It can take you to
dizzy heights, but it can also plunge you into
unimaginable depths. And sometimes, no matter how
hard you try, you can't escape the fall.”
Liam got to the bus station ten minutes early
unsure if Roger would actually show up but he was
already there.
“Andy will meet you.” Liam told him.
Roger's eyes shone with gratitude as he grasped
the ticket. ”You believe in me. That's life-changing," he
said, savoring the weight of Liam's trust. “It makes me
feel seen, heard, and valued. No one's believed in me
for a long time. Not since...well, not since I stopped
believing in myself.”
Liam's gaze held Roger's, his words piercing
deep. ”Beliefs are just opinions, Roger. They are fragile
and fickle. Faith is deeper than that, faith is trust and
