So, how do you make a memorable introduction?
Ask your host or mutual friend to do the honors, but
don't leave it to chance. Give them a script, a brief
rundown of who you are and what you do. Make it
interesting, make it memorable.
"Ainslie, this is Adrian. He's one of Cape Town's
leading church designers" was a far cry from "Ainslie,
this is Adrian. He got soaked coming here, didn't you,
Adrian?" The difference was stark – one introduction
sparked curiosity, the other inspired awkward
laughter.
In the world of strangers, an introduction was more
than just a courtesy; it was a lifeline, a bridge that
connected two worlds. And with the right
introduction, the possibilities were endless.
Open and Closed Fields
It doesn’t always work like that, though. At times
you will see someone you’d like to meet in a public
