Relationships
Other people are your greatest resource. Build rela-
tionships with them and they can offer you business,
inspiration, promotion, and any form of cooperation you
can name. Fail to build relationships and these same
people can easily hold you back from the success you
hope for.
Learning to successfully socialize and network, and
even schmooze, is in part like learning your lines in a play.
First you get a feel for the script. Then you divide it into
small chunks, which you learn and absorb one at a time,
with the director’s guidance. Once your lines are memo-
rized and you have a good feel for the material, then you
forget what the director told you, put your own spin on it,
and let your personality shine through.
