LESS STRESS: MORE YES
Delegation wasn't her strong suit. She was a
control freak. A perfectionist. She liked things done a
certain way. Her way.
The thought of handing over a task to someone
else, of relinquishing control, filled her with anxiety.
What if they messed it up? What if they didn't do it
right? What if it ended up creating more work for her?
She'd tried delegating before. With mixed results.
A colleague had dropped the ball on a crucial detail.
An assistant had misinterpreted her instructions. Each
experience had reinforced her belief that it was easier
just to do it herself.
But she was drowning. She was burning out. She
couldn't keep going like this.
She remembered a piece of advice she'd read: "If
you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go
together."
She wanted to go far. She wanted to build a
sustainable, stress-free life. And that meant learning to
delegate.
She decided to try a diļ¬erent approach. A more
strategic, more deliberate approach.
