DEEP REST
gently, precisely, untangling the knots of her
emotional suffering.
A tear escape her closed eye, tracing a path down
her temple. But it wasn't a tear of sorrow. It was a tear
of release.
The process continued. Time lost all meaning. She
was suspended, floating in a sea of deep stillness,
cleansed and renewed.
Then, slowly, the sounds began to fade. The
humming receded. The chimes softened. The feeling
of weight returned to her limbs. Her awareness
sharpened.
She opened her eyes.
The chamber was still there. The dim light. The
padded bench. But something had changed.
She felt… light. Not just physically, but
emotionally. The crushing weight that had pressed
down on her for two months was gone. Replaced by a
sense of calm.
She took a deep breath. The air tasted cleaner,
sharper. She could hear the distant vibrations of the
HVAC, the faint chirp of a cricket outside. Sounds she
hadn't truly heard in weeks.
She stood up, her movements fluid, unburdened.
She walked out of the chamber, her eyes immediately
drawn to the EEG screen.
