Chapter 19: The Museum
The basement of the Museu da Comunicação in
Lisbon smelled of copper and dust, as if old signals
still lingered in the air. Henry stood before a row of
radio consoles, the blinking lights painting his face
in fragments of red and green.
“They’re using her to trigger mass imprinting,”
Carolina said.
“A global Suggestibility Event.”
Henry traced the spiral blueprint pinned to the
wall.
“Hijack the nervous system. Install obedience
disguised as freedom.”
He looked up. “If that broadcast goes live, we
don’t just lose the God Word.”
Carolina finished for him. “We lose free will.”
Outside the museum, they met Marcos Nunes,
once a journalist, now an archivist in exile. His eyes
