“I can track everything Verax touches,” Jinji said.
“Except this.”
“This what?” Henry asked.
“It’s not coming from anywhere,” she said. “No origin point. No path.”

She stopped herself.
“Like what?”
Jinji shook her head. “Nothing. Forget it.”
Henry knew he was losing them. He was losing his mission, his identity, everything.
Before he could mount a defense, his old satellite phone, the untraceable burner he kept hidden, screamed to life on the table with an emergency, encrypted alert. It was a global broadcast, the kind Jinji used to coordinate mass leaks.
Jinji grabbed it and read the scrolling text first, her eyes wide with shock.
