Henry pulled out his phone and typed: I was told to come. I don’t know why. The man read the message, then wrote:
You’re here to see what you created. The people who couldn’t participate in your system. The ones who chose silence over disclosure.

Here? About 2,000.
Nationwide? Maybe 500,000.
Growing.
He felt sick. Half a million. Living in silence. Excluded from society because they wouldn’t participate in his system.
The man wrote again:
Do you want to know why we’re here?
Henry nodded.
The man led him to a back room.
The Martinez family sat around their five-year-old son. The boy was pale. Breathing shallow.

Diabetic. Needs insulin.
Parents undocumented.
