Henry ended the call.
Jinji said, “That went well.”
“They’re going to arrest you.”
“Maybe.”
“You should run.”
“I have places.”
“Jinji.”
She closed the laptop.
“I’ve been preparing for that possibility since I was sixteen.”
“That’s not normal.”
“Neither is being born into a family that teaches you money can make anything disappear.”
For a moment, the room changed. Jinji rarely opened that door. Today, it had cracked by accident. Henry let it stay there.
“Your father?” he asked. Her face shut.
“Don’t.”
