Meetings
HB 1154 requires a “rural district” that meets at least quarterly to
conduct meetings at a designated place inside the district or within 10
miles of the district boundary at least once per quarter. If the board
determines it is not practical to meet in the district or within 10 miles
of the district boundary, the quarterly meeting may be conducted at
another designated place in the county in which the district is located.
A “rural district” is defined as a district:
o in which more than half of the projected retail water or sewer
connections are active; and
o that is not wholly or partly located in:
Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, Travis, or El Paso counties;
or
a county that borders one of those counties (Fort Bend,
Waller, Montgomery, Liberty, Chambers, Galveston,
Brazoria, Denton, Collin, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis,
Johnson, Parker, Wise, Williamson, Bastrop, Caldwell,
Hays, Blanco, Burnet, Medina, Bandera, Kendall, Comal,
Guadalupe, Wilson, Atascosa, and Hudspeth counties).
