an Benancio 4-H is one of fourteen 4-H clubs in
Monterey County. Our 2024-2025 year is off to
Sa great start with 45 youth members enrolled.
This 4-H year, we are offering 12 projects led by our
amazing parent volunteers, including cooking, pickling,
fishing, baking, livestock projects, arts and crafts, and
Congressional Award, among others. These projects
provide members with hands-on learning experiences,
allowing them to gain knowledge and skills across
various areas. Many San Benancio 4-H members exhibit
their livestock and crafts at the local fairs. In addition to
San Benancio club projects, members have the chance
to participate in STEM events, 4-H camp, and other
county-wide activities.
A trained team of youth officers, supported by
parent volunteers, create the agendas and lead the
monthly community club meetings. Each meeting has
a business portion, educational program, healthy living
activity and recreational game. Our first club meeting
of the year was held in September. Guest speakers from
the Live For Ross Foundation joined us to teach the
importance of helmets and vehicle safety. In October,
our annual Halloween Costume Contest took place,
and 4-H record book achievements were awarded. In 3
November, we will be having our Thanksgiving Potluck
and learning about gratefulness. We have many fun and
enriching things planned for this year!
4-H members make a difference in the community.
Our Community Service Officer organizes monthly EXPERIENCED
2 community service opportunities, such as beach
clean-ups, canned food drives, and coat and sock
collections. This year, we are excited to sponsor local DENTAL CARE
THE SAN gifts. Additionally, we are in the planning stages of our Need to schedule an
