words, they are saying Christians should go out into the
world and prevent a world where injustice, corruption and
sin are prevalent. So it means that they are connecting
the Word to these moral things. However, what Jesus said
‘You are the salt of the earth’, is that salt itself tastes salty.
Now, He tells us that just as the salty taste of salt does not
change, so the covenant which God will send a Savior who
will save humans from their sins, is a covenant that does
not change like salt, and so it is to say that in this way Je-
sus, the Savior, finally has come to forgive man’s sins and
given us life. Therefore, haven’t we gotten that life? So, if
you believe in Jesus and are forgiven of your sins and have
eternal life, there must be a life that reveals the things that
are required qualification for the beatitudes—The words
of the Beatitudes are written in the Matthew Chapter 5,
which Jesus taught on the mountainside. So, practically it
adds one more, and is called the nine beatitudes. It means
that what He said ‘You are the salt of the earth’ refers to
a life that reveals the characteristics of blessings to the
world. Since Jesus has been a sacrifice to reconcile God
and man, so if you believe in that Jesus who came through
the covenant of salt, and if you have become a reconciled
relationship with God, you should show to people who Je-
sus is by revealing the forgiveness of God who has forgiven
