Glossary
Apparently (adv): used to say you have read or been told something although you are not certain it is true.
Alley (n): a narrow road or path between buildings.
Curiosity (n); an eager wish to know or learn about something.
Drag (v): to move something by pulling it along a surface, usually the ground.
Drug (n): any natural or artificially made chemical that is used as a medicine.
Fever (n): a medical condition in which the body temperature is higher than usual and the heart beats very fast.
Forehead (n): the flat part of the face, above the eyes and below the hair.
Greet (v): to welcome someone with particular words or a particular action, or to react to something in the stated way.
Harshly (adv): in an unkind or severe way.
Ignore (v): to intentionally not listen or give attention to.
Inconceivable (adj): impossible to imagine or think of.
Intend (v): to have as a plan or purpose.
Liquor (n): strong alcoholic drink.
Pedal (n): a small part of a machine or object that is pushed down with the foot to operate or move the machine or object.
Porridge (n): a thick, soft food made from oats boiled in milk or water, eaten hot for breakfast.
Purchase (v): to buy something.
Raid (n): an occasion when the police enter a place suddenly in order to find someone or something.
Resident (n): a person who lives or has their home in a place.
Rush (v): to (cause to) go or do something very quickly.
Stall (n): a large table or a small shop with an open front from which goods are sold in a public place.
