8-124 Use extreme caution and drive slowly on freeway on-ramps, off-
ramps, and sharp curves to minimize the danger of overturning the
vehicle. Use slowest mixer drum speed (drum saver setting) while
traveling on freeway on-ramps, off-ramps, right turns, sharp curves,
and while entering jobsites.
8-125 Stop at stop signs, rail crossings, for flaggers, guard shacks, security
guards and gates, police, emergency vehicles, or any other regulatory
personnel/device(s).
Rules for the Job Site (RMC)
8-126 Perform a site assessment when arriving at a job site.
8-127 Confirm ground conditions, overhead and underground hazards
(power cables, lines, septic tanks, sidewalks, excavations, etc).
8-128 Check with the jobsite supervisor and confirm the specific safety rules.
8-129 Check with the jobsite supervisor and confirm concrete placement
procedures.
8-130 If possible, un-load or discharge perpendicular to foundations, forms,
and pumps.
8-131 Request backing assistance if necessary.
8-132 Do not discharge concrete or rinse chutes in any area without
authorization.
8-133 Clean chutes and tires prior to leaving the jobsite.
8-134 Avoid ladder and discharge chute pinch points.
8-135 Use proper lifting techniques when handling extension chute.
8-136 Politely refuse to enter an unsafe area. Contact your supervisor
immediately for instructions.
8-137 If a potential for damage to property exists, ask the authorized person
on-site to sign the release of damage form before proceeding.
8-138 Before you travel in reverse, perform 360 degree circle check before
backing.
8-139 Do not allow anyone to stand on or in a vehicle while it is in motion.
8-140 Do not allow heavy equipment to push or pull vehicle unless directed
by a mechanic and authorized by plant management.
8-141 Do not allow non-Vulcan personnel to climb on to equipment or
operate any controls.
