ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to design a mobile application to enhance the awareness
of cybersecurityanddigitalcitizenship The study used mixed methodsandthe participants
were studentsin thgradestudyingatoneoftheelementaryschoolsinJeddah Quantitative
data were collected from pre and post tests while the qualitative data were obtained from a
focusgroupinterviewtoobservestudents performanceandbehaviorwhileusingtheapp The
results of this study indicatedthe positiveimpact of the mobile application on enhancingthe
awareness of cybersecurity and digital citizenship where the score showed statistically
significant differences at for the mean of students results in the pre and post tests
The researchernotedthat themobileapplicationraisedthestudents enthusiasmand
passion tolearn about cybersecurityanddigitalcitizenship,andaccordingly,enhancedtheir
awareness of these two concepts The researcher recommends to spread the awareness of
cybersecurity and digital citizenship for all students and members of society Also, she
recommends conducting further studieson thissubject because of itsimportanceinthisnew
digital era, and due to the lack of studies in cybersecurity awareness from an educational
perspective in both Arabic and English
