   Science
Year 7
Having settled into the Secondary School laboratory, our new Year 7 Science students have eagerly embraced the opportunity to do some experiments! They each researched and designed their own, before bravely carrying them out with their new Science Inquiry Skills. Students asked and investigated a number of very different questions: Which is the best ratio of ingredients for making oobleck? Which vinegar results in the best bouncy egg? Which breakfast cereal has the most iron? Which fruit juice makes the best invisible ink? Which chemicals mix to make the best ‘fire snake’? And many more!
The students continued to refine their investigation skills in Week 6 by carrying out a broad range of new experiments. They skilfully set out to answer such questions as ‘Which oil makes the best lava lamp?’, ‘Which combination of materials creates the stretchiest slime?’ and ‘Which is the best medium in which to cook an egg?’ to name a few! We commend our Year 7 students for their curiosity and their growing confidence in the laboratory.
