Horizon Christian School Visit
This year an opportunity arose for our Year 3 students to engage in letter writing with the Year 3 students
of Horizon Christian School. Last term the students wrote letters to their pen pals, and have been receiving letters back from them. On Friday 16th June, the Year
3 students from Horizon visited Harvest, and the students were able to participate in some getting-to- know-you games and activities. This gave the students an opportunity to spend some time together and allowed them to establish lifelong friendships.
Year 2/3 - Excursions
Farmshed Museum
As a part of our History Unit, the Year 2/3 class went to the Farmshed Museum to learn about what it might have been like to live in Kadina in the olden days. We were blessed to have Ken and Sue as our tour guides, and learned many facts. Overall the consensus was that it is better to live in the present as we don’t have the cane at school, and we have nice toilets! Although some students couldn’t imagine life without their electronic devices, they realised that in the past it seemed that people spent more time together.
Star of the Sea
On Wednesday 21st June the 2/3 class had the opportunity to visit the Star of the Sea Nursing Home in Wallaroo. The students enjoyed greeting the residents and joining in some activities with them.
Harvest would like to say a HUGE thank you to Briony Williams and the staff at the Star of the Sea for organising the excursion, all the games, special treats and dressing up as clowns for us. The class had a wonderful time!
