CCTC Foundation Scholarships for Academic Year 2020-2021

CCTC Foundation scholarships are different than the Scholars Program, STEM scholarships, SC
Wins, etc. Foundation scholarships are for all students and are awarded based on a variety of criteria
including major, county of residence, GPA and interest. Money can be used for tuition and/or books.
       Foundation Scholarship Program Facts:
       · The Foundation has awarded 137 scholarships @ $113,950 so far for academic year 2019-2020. We

have a few left to award.
       · To date, the foundation has awarded $2,687,493 to 3,728 students in scholarships to CCTC students.
·Donors are private citizens, civic organizations and businesses who believe in our students and want
       to help them succeed.
       · Last year we increased the total number of applicants to a little more than 400, but only half of those
actually completed the application. How do students apply?
       · Applying is very easy. The online application will go live on the CCTC website, January 7, 2020. The
link will be removed on March 13, 2020. The application asks for information regarding major,
academic goals, employment history, past honors and awards and a copy of their transcript. The more
students include, the more the review committee has to evaluate. It does not take long to complete.
       · After March 13, applicants are ranked based on their responses and GPA. Reviewers do not see
       student names.

·Students do not have to write an essay or get recommendation letters but they do have to send an
unofficial transcript. What happens if they get a scholarship?
·Students will be notified if they have been awarded a scholarship in late April. If they did not receive a
scholarship, they will be notified as well.
·Students must do the following to actually receive the money next year:
·Write a thank you note to the donor
       ·Sign the scholarship guidelines
·Agree to attend the Scholarship Breakfast in March 2021.
·Must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher
