THE STORY OF DANIEL THE PROPHET

“But go thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest and stand in thy
lot at the end of the days.” Daniel 12:13.
What is the lot in which Daniel and all of like
character are at last to stand? Who can
describe it? for who can conceive of it? It must
embrace the condition and all the
circumstances of the people of God, when
gloriously redeemed. And in reference to this,
Paul utters the following living words: “Eye
hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things that
God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1
Corinthians 2:9. That is, the boldest flight of
the imagination, the most intense conception
of the unseen glories of the heavenly world,
have never formed, and can not form, in the
human mind any tangible idea of what God
has prepared and has in store for his people.
“But God,” the apostle continues, “hath
revealed them unto us by his Spirit.” Yes, the
